Dear Melissa,
I am not a blogger, but I am writing a book, a book of short stories. One of the stories involves a mouse. I would greatly appreciate permission to include your buddy the lab mouse in that story. Did you take the picture or was it taken by a professional photographer? I don't want to infringe on anyone's copyright. If I get permission to use the photo, I would be happy to give either you or the photographer, whichever is appropriate, credit with a statement such as "Thanks to Melissa ???? for permission to include her photo of the mouse in the story "Of Mice and Cars", if you wish. I'll also send you a copy of the book when it comes out next summer.
